Where ServiceNow engineers are hired
A ServiceNow engineer builds and runs the platform that handles a company's internal services, the IT help desk above all, and also HR and other staff requests. The work is configuring tickets, changes and requests, building portals and workflows, and connecting ServiceNow to other systems. SAP engineers work on the platform that runs a company's finance and supply chain, Salesforce engineers on the one that runs its customers and sales, and cloud and DevOps engineers run the infrastructure itself. Every large company has an IT help desk, so ServiceNow is hired by every kind of employer, banks included. Accenture hires the most ServiceNow engineers in India, implementing the platform for clients, and the rest are spread across other services firms, the GCCs of many industries, and a few product companies. Most roles are mid-level, and the GCCs and product companies take juniors more readily than the services firms.
Services firms
The services world holds most ServiceNow work, and here the work is implementing and running ServiceNow for clients. Accenture hires the most ServiceNow engineers in India, mostly for IT service management at the mid level (who they hire). The IT services giants, like IBM, TCS, Infosys and Capgemini, hire many as well, mostly for IT service management and running the platform for clients.
The firms that run the infrastructure, like Unisys, Kyndryl and Ensono, hire ServiceNow engineers more heavily than any other services firms, because ServiceNow is the system they use to run their clients' IT. The consulting firms' engineering arms, like Deloitte, PwC India, EY and McKinsey, redesign a client's service desk and its workflows on ServiceNow. NewRocket, a ServiceNow specialist, and YASH Technologies are among the platform specialists in the specialist firms built around one skill. Mid-sized IT services firms, like Virtusa, Prodapt and UST, and the quiet foreign majors, like CGI, Stefanini and NTT DATA, hire ServiceNow engineers too. The services firms that feel like product companies hardly hire any. More on all of them is in the services world's ServiceNow hiring.
GCCs
Among the GCCs, ServiceNow engineers run the parent's own platform rather than a client's, mostly its IT help desk and the requests of its own staff. They are hired across many kinds of parent.
The banks hire the most of any GCC group. Inside the banks and financial institutions, Wells Fargo, American Express and NatWest Group run ServiceNow for the bank's wider engineering, and Societe Generale and JPMorganChase for new platforms. Inside the manufacturers and carmakers, Ecolab, Cargill and MANN+HUMMEL hire ServiceNow engineers more heavily than any other GCC group, and Ecolab hires them for its own internal systems. Inside the insurers, MetLife, Chubb and Principal hire them and are unusually open to juniors. Carelon, Bristol Myers Squibb and Eli Lilly hire them among the healthcare companies, and Walmart, H&M and 7-Eleven among the retailers. More on ServiceNow across the GCCs is in the GCCs' ServiceNow hiring.
Product companies
Product companies hire few ServiceNow engineers, because most of them build their own software rather than run on a business platform. ServiceNow itself builds its platform mostly with Java, cloud and AI engineers, and hires very few ServiceNow engineers of this kind. The few product companies that do hire them run their own large IT operations. Blue Yonder, a maker of supply chain planning software, hires the most. Pearson, Mastercard, Visa and the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, which runs exchanges, clearing and trading platforms, hire a few, and Bajaj Finserv hires some and takes juniors. The networks, security and data companies hire very few.
Big tech
Big tech does not hire ServiceNow engineers.
Staffing firms and hiring platforms
The staffing companies, like TekWissen, MyRemoteTeam, Alp Consulting and People Prime Worldwide, place ServiceNow engineers with clients (who they hire). The hiring platforms offer very little ServiceNow work.
Where ServiceNow is rarely hired
ServiceNow engineers are rarely hired by product companies, apart from a few, and never by big tech. The networks, security and data companies, the business software makers, which compete with ServiceNow rather than run on it, and the services firms that feel like product companies hire very few.
