ServiceNow engineers in the GCCs A role across the GCC collection, all ten Parent Industries together. The short answer ServiceNow is the platform most large companies use to run their internal work, such as the IT help desk and its tickets, requests for a new laptop or access to a system, changes to production systems, and the HR and facilities requests that follow the same pattern. ServiceNow engineers build those workflows, the portals staff use, and the connections to the rest of the company's systems, mostly in JavaScript. At the GCCs they are a small role, but several times their weight at product companies, because every large parent runs its internal work on ServiceNow and its Indian centre often runs ServiceNow for it. The banks hold about as much of it as all other industries together, Wells Fargo the most of any centre, with Societe Generale, American Express, MetLife and JPMorganChase. The carmakers and manufacturers, like Ecolab and Cargill, and the telecom operators, like BCE Global Tech, TMUS Global Solutions and Telstra, hire it at about twice their GCC weight, and at H&M and Ecolab it is a notable part of all hiring. ServiceNow is the widest platform door in the GCCs. Junior openings run well above the GCC rate, though they shrank through 2026. Where the work sits The banks hold the most, at their usual weight. Parent Industry 1, Inside the banks and financial institutions, posts about as many ServiceNow openings as all the other industries together. Wells Fargo posts more than any other centre, then Societe Generale, American Express, JPMorganChase, Commonwealth Bank, NatWest Group, Bank of America and HSBC. (More on it in the banks' hiring, in Parent Industry 1.) The retailers hire it a little under their weight, through Walmart, H&M, 7-Eleven and Fossil, and at H&M and 7-Eleven it is a notable part of hiring. (More on it in the retailers' hiring, in Parent Industry 3.) The carmakers and manufacturers hire it at more than twice their weight. In Parent Industry 4, Inside the manufacturers and carmakers, Ecolab and Cargill hire ServiceNow engineers, and at Ecolab it is one of the larger roles. Elsewhere, about at their weight. The healthcare companies hire ServiceNow at Carelon and Bristol Myers Squibb, the insurers at MetLife and Chubb, and the telecom operators, the hotels and airlines and the energy majors in small numbers above their weight, through Marriott among the hotels and Shell, SLB and Chevron among the energy majors. (More on it in the healthcare companies' hiring, in Parent Industry 5.) The logistics operators, like UPS, Maersk and DHL, hire almost none. By mandate, ServiceNow belongs to the centres that run the parent's own work. The centres Running the parent's own systems, like Ecolab and H&M, hire it at more than three times their GCC weight. The centres that took on The whole engineering function, like Wells Fargo, American Express, MetLife and HSBC, hire it above their weight and hold the most of the role. The centres Building the parent's apps and platforms, like Walmart, Societe Generale and JPMorganChase, hire it at well under their weight. What the work is

ServiceNow engineering is development on the platform, and most of it is JavaScript. The postings require:

ServiceNow ITSM, its IT service management product, the help desk, incidents, requests and changes. Flow Designer and IntegrationHub, for building workflows and connecting ServiceNow to other systems. Client Scripts, Script Includes and GlideScript, ServiceNow's ways of writing code that runs in the browser and on the server. HTML, CSS and Angular, for the service portals staff use.

Some postings also require SQL, Java or Power BI.

The banks' ServiceNow postings lean most to pipelines and to Workday beside ServiceNow. The retailers lean to the help desk, client scripts and portals, and the manufacturers to reporting with Power BI.

Bengaluru and Hyderabad hold a larger share of ServiceNow work than of GCC hiring. Chennai and Mumbai hold almost none.

What is changing

These readings follow the record quarter by quarter, from October to December 2025, the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26, to July to September 2026, the second quarter of 2026-27. A longer record will show whether they last.

ServiceNow dipped and came backIts share of GCC hiring fell after October to December 2025, held for two quarters, and rose again in July to September 2026, when ServiceNow openings fell much less than GCC hiring. The banks grew, the retailers stoppedThe banks' ServiceNow openings grew strongly to April to June 2026 and held, led by Wells Fargo and Societe Generale. The retailers' ServiceNow openings all but stopped in July to September 2026.
Persistently open roles

ServiceNow jobs stay open less often than GCC jobs overall. When one is posted again, its first and last postings are typically about three weeks apart, and nine in ten are within about nine weeks.

The retailers keep ServiceNow jobs open longest, and the healthcare companies rarely post one twice. Wells Fargo seldom does. The platform centres keep ServiceNow jobs open more often than the whole-function centres. Junior ServiceNow jobs fill fastest.
The door

ServiceNow is the widest platform door in the GCCs. Junior openings are well above the GCC rate, about as common as at product companies, and senior openings take a smaller share than across the GCCs.

The juniors are at MetLife, which posts the most, then Fossil, Cargill and HSBC. The carmakers and manufacturers and the whole-function centres take juniors most readily. The centres Running the parent's own systems are the most senior, with staff-level openings a large share. The junior share fell through 2026. It was highest from October 2025 to March 2026 and lower after.
In one line If you build on ServiceNow in JavaScript, every kind of GCC runs its internal work on your platform, Wells Fargo and the banks above all, and it is one of the easier platform doors to walk through early in a career. Terms used on this page Mandate The kind of work a parent company gives its engineering centre in India, such as building its apps and platforms, running its own systems, or testing software built elsewhere. ServiceNow and ITSM The platform most large companies use to log and route IT requests and other internal work, and its IT service management product. Flow Designer and IntegrationHub ServiceNow's tools for building workflows and for connecting it to other systems.
