International trip planning means the apps that help you prepare for a trip abroad: getting the visa, planning each day and paying in a foreign currency. Indian travellers apply for visas more often than almost anyone else, because most countries require Indian passport holders to get a visa before they travel.
Consider five friends from Jaipur planning their first trip abroad, a week in Singapore. They need three things before they fly.
First, each of them needs a visa. An online visa application service shows the country's rules, checks each friend's passport, photo and bank statement, and submits the application. Some countries now check documents online and issue a visa within minutes. The next step is to check a traveller's identity once and reuse that check at the airline and the border. This is called digital travel credentials.
Second, they need a plan for each day. An AI trip planner lets them describe the trip in one sentence. A language model then drafts each day, with places to visit and the time each takes, and all five friends edit the plan together.
Third, they need a way to pay. Most Indian cards add a fee to every payment in a foreign currency, on top of the exchange rate. This fee is called a forex markup. Some travel credit cards and some neobank cards charge no markup.
Identity checks appear in all three steps. The visa service, the card issuer and the airline each verify who the traveller is. This is a form of KYC (know your customer).
