What proptech companies hire for Industry Vertical 41, Proptech, in Domain XI, Traditional industries going digital. The short answer The companies in Proptech build the software for putting up buildings and living and working in them. Their products plan and run construction projects, measure and price the job, manage property, maintenance and workplaces, run gated communities, help people find a home and service the mortgage, rent desks and beds, and design the inside of a home. Procore, a construction-management software company, and Trimble, a construction-technology company, carry a large share of the hiring, with property-management, facilities and rental-property software companies, like MRI Software, ServiceChannel and RealPage, behind. Property software runs largely on the Microsoft stack, so .NET engineers are more than three times as common here as at a typical product company. The construction platform builds for the browser and the phone, so frontend, full-stack, Node and mobile engineers are all well above their usual weight. Java, test and cloud engineers are less common than usual. AI work surged far ahead of the product industry in 2026, and hiring fell sharply between July and September. .NET engineers. Software for managing property, maintenance and rentals has long been built on the Microsoft stack. .NET engineers build it in C# with Angular or React, SQL Server and ASP.NET, at Trimble, the facilities-maintenance software company ServiceChannel, the rental-property software company RealPage, the construction-estimating company RIB Software and the property-management software company MRI Software. They are more than three times as common here as at a typical product company, and many times as common in running the building.

Frontend engineers. Construction teams work in the browser on large drawings, schedules and budgets. Frontend engineers build these screens in React and TypeScript, often with micro frontends, mostly at Procore and the aerial-measurement company Eagleview. They are about twice as common here as elsewhere, and they take juniors.

Full-stack and Node engineers. Procore hires many full-stack engineers in React with Ruby on Rails and GraphQL, and Node engineers in TypeScript with PostgreSQL. Both are well above their usual weight, and the full-stack roles take juniors readily.

Mobile engineers. People on a building site work from a phone or tablet, often without a signal. Mobile engineers build these apps, mostly for iOS in Swift and SwiftUI with offline-first design, at Procore above all. They are more than twice as common here as elsewhere.

Java backend and full-stack engineers. Procore, Trimble and the workplace-software company Eptura build parts of their platforms in Java, usually full-stack with React. Java is less common here than at most product companies.

GenAI engineers. Trimble, the infrastructure-project software company Sitetracker and MRI Software hire GenAI engineers, building assistants and agents for project and property work, in Python with LangChain, LangGraph and MCP. GenAI holds about its usual place, and it grew sharply through 2026.

Test engineers. Trimble hires most of the testers here, in Java with Cypress, Playwright and Selenium. Testers are less common here than at most product companies.

Also present. Backend engineers at Procore and the property-tech start-up RiVirtual, many of them juniors, Python engineers at the kitchen-design software company Cyncly and the construction-AI start-ups, like Beam AI and Attentive.ai, data engineers at the infrastructure-design company Bentley Systems and Trimble, generalist software engineers, platform and Salesforce developers, firmware engineers at the building-controls company BICSYS, Go engineers at the home-interiors platform Livspace, Software Engineer, Security roles at Procore, and a few design-software engineers.

Rare here. Cloud, C/C++ and SAP work is far less common than at most product companies.

These readings follow the record quarter by quarter, from October to December 2025, the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26, to July to September 2026, the second quarter of 2026-27. A longer record will show whether they last.

A peak and a sharp fallOpenings rose to a peak in April to June 2026, then fell between July and September much more sharply than across product companies. AI surged aheadAI work was a smaller share of hiring here than across product companies in early 2026, then rose far above it in April to June and further between July and September, when GenAI engineers became one of the largest groups. .NET fell back.NET engineers were the largest group through early 2026, and their share fell sharply between July and September.
Persistently open roles

Fewer jobs here are persistently open than across product companies.

Mobile, test and .NET roles stay open longest. They are posted again more often than the same roles elsewhere. The skills that turn up most often in these jobs are Swift and the iOS SDK, Azure Service Bus, ASP.NET MVC, NUnit and SQL Server. GenAI, Python, data, full-stack, Java and frontend jobs fill quickly, and AI jobs as a whole are posted again less often than other jobs here. Trimble and RIB Software are regularly hiring, keeping many of their jobs open again and again. Bentley Systems rarely does. How long they stay open. When a job is posted again, its first and last postings are typically about three weeks apart, and rarely more than two months.
Where in the Industry Vertical the work is Market Segment 41.1

Construction tech holds a large share of the hiring, almost all in Planning and running the project, through Procore in Bengaluru, Trimble in Chennai, and RIB Software, Bentley Systems and Sitetracker. .NET, frontend, mobile, Java, GenAI, full-stack and Node engineers all hire there. Measuring, buying and building hires frontend and Python engineers at Eagleview and the construction-AI start-ups.

Market Segment 41.2

Property and facilities management software is next, and it is a .NET corner. The property-management, facilities-maintenance, rental-property, workplace and self-storage software companies hire .NET engineers above all, with some Java.

Market Segment 41.4

Real estate portals and mortgage tech hires Java, backend, GenAI and .NET engineers at the mortgage-servicing companies, like Altisource and Sagent, the property-data company Cotality, RiVirtual and home-search platforms, like Zillow and NoBroker. It is one of the most open corners for juniors.

Market Segments 41.6, 41.5 and 41.3 hire little. Home interiors and renovation platforms hire Go, Python, Java, test and .NET engineers at Cyncly and Livspace, and it is open to juniors. Coworking and co-living spaces, and the apartment society management apps, like Mygate and Amenify, hire very little.

Some companies listed here have their main home elsewhere. They are Kidde Global Solutions (Market Segment 37.9, in Industry Vertical 37, Manufacturing tech), ServiceTitan (Market Segment 15.6, in Industry Vertical 15, Customer service and CX) and StarRez (Market Segment 42.3, in Industry Vertical 42, Edtech), with several smaller names. Their hiring is described where they live, not here.

Bengaluru leads, through Procore, MRI Software, ServiceChannel, Livspace and Eagleview. Chennai is almost entirely Trimble. Pune appears through Bentley Systems, RIB Software and Cyncly, Delhi NCR through Eptura and the construction-AI start-ups, Hyderabad through RealPage and the self-storage software company Storable, and Kolkata through RIB Software.

The door

Entry and junior hiring is a little above the average for product companies, and staff-level hiring is below it.

Full-stack, backend and frontend roles take the most juniors, with .NET and GenAI. The backend roles take them most readily in proportion. Procore takes the most juniors by far, followed by BICSYS, RiVirtual and Trimble. Real estate portals and mortgage tech and home interiors and renovation platforms are the most open corners. Java, Node and mobile roles are hired mostly with experience, and .NET almost entirely so in property and facilities management software.
In one line If you build in .NET, or in React and iOS for people on a building site, Proptech is a steady destination in Bengaluru and Chennai, and one where AI work moved far ahead of the product industry in 2026. Terms used on this page Construction management software is software that plans and runs a building project, from drawings and schedules to budgets, inspections and the daily site log. Property management software is software that landlords and property managers use to handle leases, rent, maintenance and tenants. Offline-first is a way of building a mobile app so that it keeps working without a network and syncs when it reconnects. Micro frontends split a large web application into smaller parts that separate teams build and release on their own.
