Document and face checks 9 companies

When you open an account, the software checks that your ID document is genuine, that your face matches its photo, and that a live person is in front of the camera, not a photo or a video. It then checks your name against official lists. Indian companies grew up running these checks for banks and fintechs.

What's changing

Faces can now be faked.

AI can now make a face, or a video of a face, that looks real enough to fool a camera check. So verification companies are adding checks that the face in front of the camera belongs to a live person and is not a fake made with AI.
