On this page
Salesforce engineers in the GCCs A role across the GCC collection, all ten Parent Industries together. The short answer Salesforce is the software most large companies keep their customers in, from the sales team's accounts and leads to the service team's cases, the marketing team's campaigns and the customer portal. Salesforce engineers build on it in Apex and Lightning Web Components, configure its clouds and connect it to the rest of the company. They are the largest single platform role in the GCC world, a little above their weight at product companies. The banks hold the most, JPMorganChase above all, with Wells Fargo, American Express and U.S. Bank, and the drugmakers, the insurers, the hotels and airlines and the manufacturers hire Salesforce well above their GCC weight, at Amgen, Takeda, MetLife, Marriott and Saint-Gobain among others. Hyderabad, not Bengaluru, is the Salesforce city of the GCC world. The role grew through April to June 2026 and held up better than GCC hiring after it. The door is about the GCC average, wider than for SAP or Oracle. Where the work sits The banks hold the most, at their usual weight. Parent Industry 1, Inside the banks and financial institutions, posts the largest share of GCC Salesforce openings. JPMorganChase posts more than any other centre, then Wells Fargo, American Express, U.S. Bank, Barclays, Empower and Jefferies, and at U.S. Bank and Franklin Templeton Salesforce is a large part of what the centre posts. Many of the banks' Salesforce openings are for engineers who connect Salesforce to the bank's own systems in Java. (More on it in the banks' hiring, in Parent Industry 1.) The drugmakers hire it at nearly twice their weight. In Parent Industry 5, Amgen posts more Salesforce openings than any centre outside JPMorganChase, and Takeda and Optum India hire Salesforce engineers too. (More on it in the healthcare companies' hiring, in Parent Industry 5.) The insurers, the hotels and airlines and the manufacturers hire it well above their weight. In Parent Industry 2, Inside the insurers, MetLife, Principal Global Services, The Standard, AXA XL and Nationwide hire Salesforce engineers. In Parent Industry 10, Inside hotels, airlines, property firms and the rest, Marriott and Delta Air Lines make Salesforce one of their main platforms, at about three times the GCC weight. In Parent Industry 4, Inside the manufacturers and carmakers, Saint-Gobain and Cargill hire them. Retail hires it below its weight, but at Mattel and Columbia Sportswear Salesforce is a large part of all hiring, and Mattel hires it more heavily than any other centre in the GCC world. (More on it in the retailers' hiring, in Parent Industry 3.) The logistics operators, the energy majors and the telecom operators, like Maersk, Chevron and Telstra, hire little. By mandate, Salesforce leans away from the platform builders. The centres Running the parent's own systems, like Mattel, Saint-Gobain and Columbia Sportswear, hire Salesforce engineers at more than four times their GCC weight. The centres that took on The whole engineering function, like Wells Fargo, Amgen, MetLife and American Express, hire them above their weight and hold the most of the role. The centres Building the parent's apps and platforms, like JPMorganChase and U.S. Bank, hold a large share but at under their weight. What the work is

Salesforce engineering at the GCCs is platform development with real code. The postings require:

Apex, Salesforce's programming language, and Lightning Web Components, its way of building screens, with the older Aura and Visualforce in many postings and SOQL for querying its data. Salesforce's clouds, Service Cloud for customer service, Sales Cloud for the sales team, Marketing Cloud for campaigns and Experience Cloud for customer portals. Copado and SFDX, for releasing Salesforce changes through a pipeline, and Salesforce Flow for automating steps without code. MuleSoft, Salesforce's own integration platform, in a notable share of postings.

A large minority of postings also require Java, AWS and SQL, for the systems Salesforce is connected to.

The emphasis follows the industry. The banks' Salesforce postings lean most to Java, Spring and React beside the platform. The drugmakers lean to Copado, MuleSoft, Aura and Visualforce, and to the security settings that control who sees which record. The retailers' postings are the ones that ask for Agentforce, Salesforce's tool for AI agents. The insurers pair Salesforce with .NET and Angular, and the manufacturers lean to SFDX and Lightning.

Hyderabad holds a far larger share of Salesforce work than of GCC hiring, about as much as Bengaluru, and Pune holds more too.

What is changing

These readings follow the record quarter by quarter, from October to December 2025, the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26, to July to September 2026, the second quarter of 2026-27. A longer record will show whether they last.

Salesforce rose, then held upSalesforce openings grew strongly to April to June 2026 and fell back less than GCC hiring in July to September, so the role ended the record at a much larger share of GCC hiring than it began. Its share also rose at product companies. The banks drove the riseThe banks' Salesforce openings more than doubled into April to June 2026, through JPMorganChase and Wells Fargo above all, and eased after. Mattel and U.S. Bank grew their Salesforce hiring through July to September 2026.
Persistently open roles

Salesforce jobs stay open about as often as GCC jobs overall, and close quickly when they do. When one is posted again, its first and last postings are typically about three weeks apart, and nine in ten are within about six weeks.

The centres Running the parent's own systems and the manufacturers keep Salesforce jobs open longest. The insurers never posted a Salesforce job twice, and the hotels and airlines rarely. Amgen and Mattel keep a large share of their Salesforce jobs open again and again. JPMorganChase and Wells Fargo seldom do. The Salesforce jobs posted again most often require SFDX, Copado and Lightning, or Salesforce beside C#, React or Java.
The door

Salesforce's door is about the GCC average, and wider than for SAP or Oracle. Junior openings are a little above the GCC rate, mid-level openings are the clear majority, and staff-level openings are fewer than across the GCCs.

JPMorganChase takes the most Salesforce juniors, and the most readily of the large employers, with Wells Fargo, Takeda, American Express, The Standard and Mattel behind. The retailers, the drugmakers and the insurers take juniors most readily. The manufacturers and the hotels and airlines take few. The whole-function centres take juniors more readily than the platform centres.
In one line If you build on Salesforce in Apex and Lightning, the GCCs hire you in more places than for any other platform, the banks, the drugmakers, the insurers and the hotels, in Hyderabad as much as Bengaluru, and the door is open earlier than for SAP.
