On this page
Oracle and Workday engineers in the GCCs A role across the GCC collection, all ten Parent Industries together. The short answer After SAP, Oracle's business suites and Workday are the systems large companies most often run their money and their people on. Oracle's Fusion and its older suites run finance and purchasing, and Workday runs HR and payroll. Engineers on these suites set them up, extend them and connect them to everything else. At the GCCs this is a small role, a little above its weight at product companies, and the openings are few enough that each employer matters. Workday is the larger part, at Maersk, NatWest Group, Bristol Myers Squibb, MetLife and TMUS Global Solutions, and Oracle's suites the smaller, at Societe Generale, Bank of America, Mattel and Williams-Sonoma. The logistics operators, like Maersk, Cardinal Health and Ingram Micro, and the telecom operators, through TMUS Global Solutions, hire this work at several times their GCC weight. It was almost absent at the start of the record and grew in every quarter after. The door is narrow, with almost no openings for juniors. Where the work sits The banks post the most, at under their weight. Parent Industry 1, Inside the banks and financial institutions, holds the largest share, through NatWest Group and Wells Fargo for Workday, and Societe Generale and Bank of America for Oracle. (More on it in the banks' hiring, in Parent Industry 1.) The logistics operators and the telecom operators hire it most, in proportion. In Parent Industry 6, Inside the logistics operators and distributors, Maersk posts more Workday openings than any other centre, at several times the GCC weight. In Parent Industry 8, Inside the telecom operators, TMUS Global Solutions hires both Workday and Oracle engineers, at many times the GCC weight. The healthcare companies and the insurers hire it above their weight, through Bristol Myers Squibb's Workday work, and MetLife and FM. (More on it in the healthcare companies' hiring, in Parent Industry 5.) The retailers hire it under their weight, through Mattel and Williams-Sonoma on Oracle. (More on it in the retailers' hiring, in Parent Industry 3.) By mandate, this is the work of the whole-function and systems centres. The centres that took on The whole engineering function, like NatWest Group, MetLife and Bristol Myers Squibb, hold most of it, at well above their weight. The centres Running the parent's own systems, like Mattel, hire it at three times their weight. The centres Building the parent's apps and platforms, like Societe Generale, hire it at well under their weight. What the work is

Oracle and Workday work at the GCCs comes in two parts.

Workday engineers, the larger part, work on Workday's HR and finance system. The postings require Workday's integration tools and Workday Studio, its tool for building complex integrations, with SQL. Oracle engineers work on Oracle Fusion, its cloud suite, and on the older PeopleSoft, NetSuite and E-Business Suite in a few postings, with Oracle Integration Cloud for connecting the suite to other systems and SQL.

Many postings in both parts also ask for reporting and moving data, because these suites feed a company's finance and HR reports.

None of these postings ask for experience with AI models.

Hyderabad holds about as much of this work as Bengaluru, a far larger share than of GCC hiring, and Pune and Delhi NCR a little more too.

What is changing

These readings follow the record quarter by quarter, from October to December 2025, the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26, to July to September 2026, the second quarter of 2026-27. A longer record will show whether they last.

Oracle and Workday grew in every quarterThere were almost no openings in October to December 2025. They rose in each quarter after, including July to September 2026, when GCC hiring fell, and the role's share of GCC hiring doubled in that last quarter. At product companies its share stayed small. The banks and the drugmakers drove the riseNatWest Group and the healthcare companies, Bristol Myers Squibb above all, grew this work through July to September 2026, while Maersk's and TMUS Global Solutions' came earlier in the year.
Persistently open roles

Oracle and Workday jobs stay open about as often as GCC jobs overall. When one is posted again, its first and last postings are typically about three weeks apart, and nine in ten are within about six weeks. Workday jobs are the ones posted again most often.

The door

The door is narrow. There are no entry-level Oracle or Workday openings in the GCC world, junior openings are far under the GCC rate, and mid-level openings are the large majority. The banks' openings are the most senior, with staff level a large share. The only juniors are a handful at NatWest Group and Ingram Micro.

In one line If you know Workday or Oracle Fusion, a small number of GCCs want you, at Maersk, NatWest Group, Bristol Myers Squibb, MetLife, TMUS Global Solutions and Societe Generale, more each quarter through 2026, once you have experience, and often in Hyderabad. Terms used on this page Mandate The kind of work a parent company gives its engineering centre in India, such as building its apps and platforms, running its own systems, or testing software built elsewhere. Workday and Workday Studio A packaged system for a company's HR and finance, and its tool for building integrations. Oracle Fusion and E-Business Suite Oracle's cloud business suite and its older on-premise one, which run a company's finance, purchasing and supply chain. NetSuite and PeopleSoft Oracle's business suite for smaller companies, and its older HR and finance suite. Oracle Integration Cloud Oracle's service for connecting its suites to other systems.
