The role has two halves of similar size. Frontend engineers build web screens. React is required in nearly every frontend posting, Angular in a minority that shrank through 2026, and TypeScript in most, with Jest, Cypress and Playwright for testing and Redux Toolkit for managing a screen's state. A notable share require WCAG, the standard for making websites usable by people with disabilities, and a growing share require micro frontends, which split a large website into parts that separate teams can build and release.
Mobile engineers build apps. Android leads, then iOS, then apps built once for both. The postings require Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for Android, Swift and SwiftUI for iOS, the MVVM pattern for structuring an app, GraphQL for fetching data, and React Native for cross-platform apps. Flutter barely appears.
The emphasis follows the industry.
The whole-function centres lean to web work, with React, Angular, jQuery, Bootstrap and MUI. The platform centres lean to mobile.
Bengaluru holds a clearly larger share of frontend and mobile work than of GCC hiring as a whole. Hyderabad holds less.
These readings follow the record quarter by quarter, from October to December 2025, the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26, to July to September 2026, the second quarter of 2026-27. A longer record will show whether they last.
Frontend and mobile jobs stay open about as often as GCC jobs overall. When one is posted again, its first and last postings are typically about three weeks apart, and nine in ten are within about nine weeks.
Frontend and mobile is a mid-career role. Mid-level openings take a clearly larger share than across the GCCs. Junior openings are a little under the GCC rate and well under the rate at product companies, where juniors are hired into these roles far more readily. Staff-level openings are fewer than across the GCCs.
This page reads the openings. The story of the companies is on Global capability centres in India (GCCs).
