How ticketing works. A ticketing platform does not own the cinemas or the stadiums. It connects to each venue's own system, and shows which seats are free, in real time. When you pick a seat, the platform holds it for a few minutes while you pay, so that no one else can buy it. Then it issues the ticket.
How the money flows

When everyone wants a ticket at once. When tickets for a big concert go on sale, millions of people may try to buy at the same moment. The platform puts them in a virtual queue, so that the system is not overwhelmed. It must also stop bots: programs that buy tickets in bulk so that touts can resell them at a higher price.

Booking places to play. Sports turfs and badminton courts are booked by the hour, through apps that list many venues in one place. Larger venues, such as convention centres and stadiums, use software to rent out their space and run each event.

Airlines have priced seats by demand for decades. Concert and cinema tickets are following, with prices that rise as a show sells. The AI models that set these prices also try to catch the bots and touts that buy tickets to resell them. How far Indian audiences will accept prices that change by the minute is still an open question.
