That kitchen is a cloud kitchen. It has no tables and no waiters. One kitchen often cooks for several restaurant brands, and each brand is sold on the delivery apps under its own name.

A cloud kitchen's product is as much software as food. The software does three jobs:
- deciding which brands to run in which neighbourhood
- standardising the recipes, so each dish tastes the same in every kitchen
- timing the cooking to the moment the delivery rider arrives
