Salesforce engineers in the services world A role across the services world, every Company Tier together, Accenture left out. Accenture posts several times as much Salesforce work as the rest of the services world put together, and its Salesforce hiring is described with the rest of its hiring on its own. The short answer Salesforce is the platform most large companies use to track their customers, their sales and their service desks, and services firms build on it for them, writing code on the platform, setting up its clouds for sales, service, marketing and customer websites, and connecting it to everything else. Outside Accenture, Salesforce engineers are a modest role in the services world, above their weight at product companies. Their home is the build firms, EPAM above all, where Salesforce is several times its services weight, and the mid-sized firms, like Virtusa and Mphasis, the quiet foreign majors, like CGI and Sopra Steria, the specialist firms, like Birlasoft and YASH Technologies, and the consulting arms, like PwC and Deloitte, all hire it above their weight too. The giants, like Infosys, IBM and TCS, unusually hire it well below theirs. The postings require Apex and Lightning Web Components on the Sales and Service Clouds, and some now ask for Agentforce, Salesforce's tool for AI agents. Salesforce hiring fell through 2026, though more gently than services hiring as a whole until July to September 2026. The door is narrow and leans senior. Where the work sits The build firms are its home. In Company Tier 5, The services firms that feel like product companies, Salesforce is several times its services weight, and EPAM posts more Salesforce work than any other firm in the services world. Above the rate in four more tiers. The mid-sized firms, through Virtusa and Mphasis, the quiet foreign majors, through CGI and Sopra Steria, the specialist firms, through the platform houses Birlasoft and YASH Technologies, and the consulting arms, through PwC and Deloitte, all hire Salesforce engineers above their services weight. At Zensar Technologies and Birlasoft, Salesforce is a notable part of everything they post. The giants hire it least. Infosys, IBM, Capgemini and TCS post Salesforce work, but it is a much smaller part of the giants' hiring than of services as a whole. What the work is

Salesforce work in services has three parts, often in one posting.

Building on the platform, in Apex, Salesforce's programming language, with Lightning Web Components and the older Aura and Visualforce for screens, SOQL and SOSL for querying data, and Salesforce Flow for automating processes without code. Setting up the clouds, Sales Cloud and Service Cloud above all, then Marketing Cloud and Experience Cloud for customer websites. Connecting Salesforce to other systems, through its APIs and MuleSoft, which Salesforce owns, and in many postings Oracle Integration Cloud.

Most postings also require JavaScript and a deployment pipeline, and some require Agentforce, Salesforce's tool for building AI agents on the platform.

Bengaluru has most of the work, but less of it than for services hiring as a whole. Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai hold a larger share of Salesforce than of services overall.

What is changing

These readings follow the record quarter by quarter, from October to December 2025, the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26, to July to September 2026, the second quarter of 2026-27. A longer record will show whether they last.

Salesforce held up, then slippedOpenings held steady into January to March 2026 and fell after, more gently than services hiring as a whole, so Salesforce's share of services hiring grew until April to June 2026 and eased in July to September. The employers changedBirlasoft posted a burst of Salesforce jobs in October to December 2025 and none after. Infosys and PwC stopped from April 2026. EPAM's Salesforce hiring began in January 2026 and made it the largest employer, and YASH Technologies kept a steady pace.
Persistently open roles

Salesforce jobs are persistently open a little more often than services jobs overall. When one is posted again, its first and last postings are typically about three weeks apart, and rarely more than seven weeks.

Infosys, Virtusa and PwC post the same Salesforce job again most often, and CGI and EPAM less so. Salesforce's developer and AI tools are the hardest to find. The skills found most often in persistently open Salesforce jobs are SFDX, Salesforce's developer tools, Einstein, its AI features, its APIs and Flow, and the pipeline tools Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
The door

Salesforce's door is narrow and leans senior. Entry and junior openings are well under the services rate, and senior openings outnumber mid-level ones.

The build firms are the most senior, with senior and staff openings most of their Salesforce work. The specialist firms are the most mid-level, and with Brillio, Zensar Technologies and HCLTech they are where the few juniors get in.
In one line If you build on Salesforce, the services world wants you most at EPAM and the mid-sized and foreign firms rather than the giants, and more and more it wants Salesforce's newest tools, Flow and Agentforce among them, from engineers with experience.
