Low-code and automation developers in the services world A role across the services world, every Company Tier together, Accenture left out. Accenture's low-code and automation hiring is described with the rest of its hiring on its own. The short answer Not every business application is written from scratch. Much of what a company needs, a form that routes an approval, a dashboard for the finance team, a case-handling app for claims, a robot that copies data between two old systems, is built by configuring a platform rather than coding one. Microsoft's Power Platform, Pega, Appian and robotic process automation tools such as UiPath are the platforms, and low-code and automation developers build on them. In the services world this is a small role, but at several times its weight at product companies, because it is how services firms deliver quick business applications for clients. The consulting arms, the quiet foreign majors and the mid-sized firms hire it most heavily, PwC, C3, NTT DATA, Sopra Steria and Virtusa among them, and the giants, like IBM and Infosys, post the most in volume. It is the widest door among the platform roles, with junior openings about twice the services rate. Where the work sits The consulting arms weigh most. In Company Tier 7, The consulting firms' engineering arms, low-code work is close to twice its services weight, at PwC and Deloitte, and at C3, Crowe's IT arm, it is a large part of everything the firm posts. The quiet foreign majors and the mid-sized firms are well above the rate. NTT DATA, CGI and Sopra Steria among the foreign majors, and Virtusa and Happiest Minds among the mid-sized firms, hire low-code developers above their services weight. The giants post the most in volume, IBM and Infosys above all, but at below their services weight. The specialist firms hire at about the rate, through YASH Technologies. The build firms, like EPAM and Luxoft, the engineering-services firms, like Quest Global and L&T Technology Services, and the small shops, like AgileEngine and Wissen Technology, hire very little. What the work is

Low-code and automation work in services has three parts.

Microsoft's Power Platform, the largest part. The postings require Power BI for reports, Power Apps for simple applications, Power Automate for workflows and Dataverse for their data, with SQL, Azure and often C# and .NET for what the platform cannot do on its own. Workflow and case-management platforms, Pega and Appian, for applications that route a case, a claim or an approval through many steps. Robotic process automation, UiPath and Automation Anywhere, software robots that work through other applications' screens the way a person would.

Many postings also require JavaScript, HTML and CSS for the screens, and SQL Server or Oracle for the data underneath.

None of these postings ask for experience with language models.

Bengaluru has most of the work, and Hyderabad holds a much larger share of it than of services hiring generally.

What is changing

These readings follow the record quarter by quarter, from October to December 2025, the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26, to July to September 2026, the second quarter of 2026-27. A longer record will show whether they last.

Low-code fell hard, then came back in partOpenings fell in each quarter to April to June 2026, faster than services hiring as a whole, then rose again in July to September 2026, so the role ended the record at about its starting share of services hiring. The employers changedIBM, NTT DATA and PwC posted almost no low-code work after March 2026. Virtusa posted the most of its record in July to September 2026, Infosys came back in that quarter, and YASH Technologies hired steadily from January 2026.
Persistently open roles

Low-code jobs are persistently open less often than services jobs overall. When one is posted again, its first and last postings are typically about three weeks apart, and rarely more than six weeks.

NTT DATA and IBM posted the same low-code job again most often. Low-code with a database or Appian is hardest to find. The low-code jobs posted again most often also require Oracle, MySQL or SQL Server, or Appian.
The door

This is the widest door among the platform roles. Junior openings are about twice the services rate, entry-level openings are more common than the services rate too, and senior openings are well below their services share.

The mid-sized firms and the consulting arms take juniors most readily, Happiest Minds, PwC and Sopra Steria among them, and Infosys takes the most of any single firm. Mid-level openings are the clear majority, and the specialist firms and the build firms are the most mid-level of all.
In one line If you build with the Power Platform, Pega, Appian or UiPath, the services world hires you at several times the rate of product companies, at the consulting arms, the foreign majors and the mid-sized firms above all, and this is one of the easier platform doors to walk through early in a career. Terms used on this page Low-code Building applications mostly by configuring a platform rather than writing code. Power Platform, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse Microsoft's tools for reports, simple applications and automated workflows, and the data store they share. Pega and Appian Low-code platforms for workflow and case-handling applications. Robotic process automation, UiPath and Automation Anywhere Software robots that carry out routine work through other applications' screens, and the two main tools for building them.
